So let me tell you about me, my company and the position.


My name is Tanja Shaw and I run a fitness and nutrition coaching company called Ascend Fitness + Lifestsyle in Chilliwack, BC.  


My business is dedicated to helping women and men achieve their health and fitness goals through customized nutrition and fitness programs.


And business is growing!


I'm looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and energetic person to join our administrative team. 


I currently offer one-on-one customized nutrition and fitness programs, group coaching classes, and nutrition counseling, which educate, motivate, and support men, women, and teens to improve their health and fitness.

We are hiring for a part-time position. Starting at $13-$16/hour. As a member of our team you'll also have access to fitness classes, a team of health coaches and upon requirement of minimum hours, access to benefits. 


Tasks I Need You To Perform

  • Responding to customer service phone calls and emails. I get quite a few phone calls and emails every day. You will need to respond to each of these with basic information I’ll provide you. You need to be comfortable talking on the phone, using email and being a good typist.
  • Data Input and Filing.
  • Client Care. Aiding clients with session booking and scheduling changes, as well as being able to effectively communicate information to clients and answer membership questions in-person, over the phone, and via email.

  • And so much more... we're a small business- which means things don't get  boring :)

Required Skills


These are the skills you must already have to qualify for this position: 

  • Microsoft Word. You must be very comfortable using Word.

  • Microsoft Excel: You must have basic Excel skills. We don’t do anything advanced with this software, just some simple spreadsheets, but you must be comfortable doing what I need you to do.
  • Good phone personality/etiquette: You will be talking with my customers, who are VERY important to me, and prospective customers, who are also important. You must be comfortable conversing on the phone, in person, and through email. You must know how to conduct yourself professionally, take clear messages and deliver clear instructions to the prospect or client. I’ll teach you everything you need to say and do, but I can’t teach you manners and professionalism.
  • Email: A great deal of your work will be via email. I use a web-based program that’s easy to learn (you’ll understand it within 30 minutes). You need to be very comfortable and proficient with email.
  • Thoughtfulness and organization: I need you to be able to think for yourself and be organized. I am very serious about this one. I do not want a robot, I want someone who learns and grows with me
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The administration office works as a team and it is critical that you are able to work well with others in a team environment. Excellent communication skills are a must as well!
